Overcharged for both a scone and then later another day a burger.

Scone is 2.50 on his whiteboard, he charged me 3 euro. I went another day and was told he had a special on for a 7 euro chicken burger and a fries, I ordered table water with it.

He charged me 18 euro more than double the initial price mentioned with no forewarning or justification.

Even if 18 euro was the going price (which it isn't). The price would be outrageous. The Carriag Restaurant in the bloody hotel wouldn't have charged me 15 quid for that and he charged me 18 with no premium drink?

Lads, having a laugh and tomorrow I will be in asking for a refund. I am not a happy camper and would clarify with the guy what the cost will be for every little thing going forward.

In a cozy town like Carrick, you'd think someone wouldn't take you for a ride like this. But sadly, conmen still exist.

Update: Walked in kindly asking for the overcharge to be corrected. He denied ever saying 7 euro and said he would never say that and "refused to have this discussion".

I walked out very stressed, but trying to keep my composure. I've had to file a chargeback with my bank, a scenario I wanted to avoid as it can lead to additional fees for the seller.

I honestly would have accepted 5 euro even and I can believe the meal was more then 7 euro and there was a miscommunication on his part. But 18 is clearly an overcharge and is shady as hell when he refuses to even speak to me on the matter.

No, he takes me for a fool and sadly for him. I am not.

I urge other people not to support businesses, who will treat their customers in the way he treated me and to be cautious if buying from this establishment.

Horrible coffee from a machine and charged hotel prices. Food is worse again with prices to boot.

The service was amazing! And the food was very very tasty! Lovely little cozy cafe, and also really enjoyed listening to the owners stories about the buildings history and the history of the street!
